About

About

On a forested plot surrounded by pine trees, we created a response- a home that draws on the simplicity of a historical form to become a bold, expressive sculpture for living.

The buildings mass is defined by a dialogue between two elements. A white, plastered base firmly anchors the house to the ground, while a graphite standing- seam metal cladding envelops the roof and upper floor walls, lending the structure a monolithic, almost sculptural character. The house has been precisely embedded in the landscape, with tree removal reduced to an absolute minimum. Here, architecture engages in a conscious dialogue with nature: the vertical rhythm of the metal panels echoes the trunks of the surrounding pines, allowing the building- despite its strong presence- to appear as if it naturally emerges from among the trees.

This seemingly closed form is articulated by precise, sculptural cuts. The most powerful gesture is a deep recess carved into the ground floor, creating a fully covered terrace of over 40 square meters. It functions as a true outdoor living room, seamlessly connected to the interior and allowing residents to enjoy the proximity of the forest regardless of weather conditions- an ideal setting for morning coffee in the rain or evening gatherings with friends.

At the heart of the house lies a spectacular living room open across two levels. Bathed in daylight and full of spatial breath, it not only creates a striking visual impression but, above all, integrates family life by linking the ground floor with the private upper level through an open mezzanine. Daily life revolves around this central space: on one side, a contemporary kitchen with direct access to the covered terrace; on the other, a generous dining area opening toward the garden. Together, they dissolve the boundary between interior and the surrounding forest.

The upper floor forms a private retreat for the residents, accommodating a comfortable master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, cozy childrens rooms, and a home office designed for focused work, complemented by a practical laundry room.
